An Israeli envoy has held talks with Egyptian officials about a possible ceasefire in his country's offensive on Gaza, the Associated Press reported.
After arriving at Cairo's airport, the official was immediately taken to the talks with Egyptian authorities, local security officials said.
The Israeli official was not identified.
