The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (Sepa) has issued 12 flood warnings and eight flood alerts.

It said regions including Central, Dumfries and Galloway, Tayside, West Central Scotland as well as Caithness and Sutherland should expect flooding and are advised to prepare.

Some areas have also been marked for flood alerts where flooding is possible.

Sepa hydrology manager Marc Becker said: "We would encourage people in the areas potentially at risk to remain vigilant and be mindful of the conditions in their locality and when travelling.

"Members of the public can access the latest flood updates for their area, and sign up to Floodline, our direct warning service, via our website, or by calling 0845 988 1188."

Scotland flood evacuations

More than 100 people were evacuated from their homes and were cut off from transport links when persistent heavy rain caused flooding in central Scotland.
