Israel reluctant over ground troops but 'can't sit still'

The Israeli ambassador to the UK told ITV1's Daybreak the country was reluctant to send troops into Gaza, but the violence meant it "could not sit still". Daniel Taub said he was concerned the move may risk losing international support, but the lives of citizens had to be protected.

Israel-Hamas ceasefire deal

Egypt has announced a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that is set to begin at 7pm UK time. The announcement was made by the Egyptian foreign minister in Cairo alongside US Secretary if State Hillary Clinton.
