Middle East Envoy Tony Blair has said he hopes a ceasefire can be reached between Israel and Gaza in the coming days.
Mr Blair was speaking after a meeting with Israeli President Shimon Peres:
I very much hope that over the coming days we can achieve cessation on a basis that is sustainable, on a basis that stops the threat of missiles coming from Gaza, targeted at Israeli civilians, and also then relieves the people of Gaza who have also suffered of course.
Our goals are clear to stop the fire and to introduce a deterrent against the renewal of it.
Today's bombing in Tel Aviv is reminiscent of six years ago and could mark a serious escalation in the conflict.
A truce in Gaza suits all sides but none of the groups seem interested in a long-lasting solution.
A complex system of air defences has been instrumental in protecting Israel's population from incoming rockets.
