Reports: Dodgy door-to-door salesmen will target vulnerable

Dodgy door-to-door salesmen will target vulnerable people while the country’s busiest shopping areas will become “free-for-alls” for street traders, ministers were warned.

According to reports, the Government's move to scrap controls on pedlars provoked anger as it announced it would ease restrictions on travelling vendors, “pop-up stalls” and rag-and-bone men.

The Independent reports that ministers claimed the reforms would make it easier for budding “young entrepreneurs” to trade in communities and on doorsteps without being stifled by bureaucracy.
