Britons 'spending more on leisure'

The second highest expenditure for families in the UK last year was "recreation and culture" which cost the average household £63.90 per week, according to the Office of National Statistics.

There was a small increase in spending in tickets to the cinema, evening classes and sporting events.

The average UK household spent £438.60 a week last year, an increase of £10 from 2010 and the highest recorded by the Office of National Statistics.
