Missiles thrown at police following flag protest

Missiles have been thrown at police after a peaceful demonstration in Ballymena, Northern Ireland turned violent according to UTV.

150 campaigners protested outside the town hall following the removal of a union flag from Belfast City Hall.

Clinton condemns NI violence

The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has condemned the violence sparked over the decision to restrict the flying of the Union flag at Belfast City Hall. She has said: "There can be no place for violence in the new Northern Ireland."
