Two Australian DJs, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, rang the King Edward VII Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning, pretending to be the Queen and asking to speak to "Kate, my granddaughter."
They were transferred to the nurse taking care of the Duchess of Cambridge, who disclosed details of her condition.
The hospital called the stunt "deplorable" and said they were "reviewing" their telephone protocols.
An inquest has heard that the nurse who transferred a prank call about the Duchess of Cambridge was found hanging in her nurses' quarters.
Jacintha Saldanha's colleagues discovered her hanged in her room in the King Edward VII's Hospital nursing quarters, her inquest has heard.
The family of Jacintha Saldanha say they miss her 'every moment', as Australian hoax DJs say they are 'heartbroken' at her death.
