A 23-year-old male Swansea City fan was arrested for a racially aggravated public order offence during the club's Premier League game against Norwich at the Welsh city's Liberty Stadium.

Norwich City centre-back Sebastien Bassong complained to referee Howard Webb that the alleged incident was directed at him after his team scored the goal that clinched a 4-3 win.

A Swansea City spokesman said that the alleged supporter in question was identified "within 10 minutes of the report" after stewards reviewed TV footage. The club said that it abhorred racism and that the matter was with the police.
