Lionel Messi breaks all-time goalscoring record
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has set a new record for the number of goals scored in one calendar year.
His 86th goal of 2012, scored for Barcelona against Real Betis, beat Gerd Müller's milestone set in 1972.
Messi's 86 goals came in just 66 matches.
