Census: Foreign-born residents in UK increases

The number of foreign-born residents living in England and Wales increased from 4.6 million in 2001 to 7.5 million in 2011 - 13% of the population, census data from the Office for National Statistics showed.


Census shows population jump

The population of England and Wales grew by 7.1 percent between 2001 and 2011, census data showed. The proportion of foreign-born residents in the country increased to 13 percent.
