Population grows by 3.7 million in ten years

The population has grown by 7.1 per cent in ten years (up by 3.7 million to 56.1 million) in England and Wales.


Census shows population jump

The population of England and Wales grew by 7.1 percent between 2001 and 2011, census data showed. The proportion of foreign-born residents in the country increased to 13 percent.
