Scotland Yard detectives will contact their colleagues in Australia to interview witnesses to "put the best evidence" before the coroner about the circumstances of Jacintha Saldanha's death.
Detective Chief Inspector James Harman told Coroner Dr Fiona Wilcox: "I can expect in the very near future to be in contact with colleagues in New South Wales."
Mrs Saldanha had been fooled by Sydney-based DJs Michael Christian and Mel Greig into believing they were the Queen and Prince of Wales during the prank call to the King Edward VII's Hospital in London.
An inquest has heard that the nurse who transferred a prank call about the Duchess of Cambridge was found hanging in her nurses' quarters.
Jacintha Saldanha's colleagues discovered her hanged in her room in the King Edward VII's Hospital nursing quarters, her inquest has heard.
The family of Jacintha Saldanha say they miss her 'every moment', as Australian hoax DJs say they are 'heartbroken' at her death.
