The Connecticut elementary school gunman Adam Lanza was carrying four guns, including an assault-type weapon, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition - enough to kill just about every student in Sandy Hook.

Lanza had an 'arsenal of weapons and ammunition'

Lieutenant Paul Vance of Connecticut State Police said Adam Lanza had an arsenal of weapons and ammunition.

The weapon that was utilised most of of the time during this horrific crime was identified as a Bushmaster AR15 assault type weapon. It had high capacity magazines. In addition to that the subject had in his possession a Glock 10mm and a Sig Sauer 9mm.

All weapons had multiple magazines and additional ammunition. The fourth weapon that was discovered was a shotgun that was recovered from the suspect's vehicle that was parked outside of the school.
