Newtown prepares for silence to remember Sandy Hook dead

AT 2.30pm GMT people across the US will join mourners in Newtown in silent remembrance, marking a week since twenty children and six adults were killed in the Sandy Hook massacre.

A minute's silence has been held across Connecticut for the victims of the Sandy Hook school massacre. Churches then rang their bells 26 times - once for each victim killed exactly a week ago.
