President Obama paused during a meeting in the Oval Office today to join the moment of silence held to remember the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting - one week on.

A minute's silence has been held across Connecticut for the victims of the Sandy Hook school massacre. Churches then rang their bells 26 times - once for each victim killed exactly a week ago.
