The Home Office has announced an extra £500,000 of funding to help tackle gang and youth violence. It will also expand its frontline services to cover three more priority areas.

Facts on knife crime in the UK

  • Almost half of all knife crime in the UK takes place in London, Greater Manchester and the West Midlands
  • 60% of knife crime attacks in London are carried out in a gang context
