Flood warnings rise to 81 as further rain expected

The number of flood warnings and alerts across England and Wales have increased as forecasters warn of further heavy rainfall.

The Environment Agency currently has 81 flood warnings and 228 flood alerts in operation in the following areas:

  • Anglia - 3 warnings; 19 alerts
  • Midlands - 23 warnings; 31 alerts
  • Northeast - 5 warnings; 13 alerts
  • Northwest - 1 warning; 18 alerts
  • Southeast - 27 warnings; 56 alerts
  • Southwest - 17 warnings; 50 alerts
  • Wales - 5 warnings; 41 alerts
