Eight Britons killed in Thailand over three years

Seven Britons have been killed in Thailand since 2009 and the death of 22-year-old Stephen Ashton from Redhill in Surrey, brings that total to eight.

The British tourist was reportedly killed by a stray bullet in a fight between locals at a New Year's Eve party on the island of Koh Phangan in Thailand.

Thai man in court over Brit death

The 26-year old Thai man accused of shooting dead British tourist Stephen Ashton at a New Year's Eve party has appeared in court. He told ITV News he wants to say sorry to his family, adding "I know I have done wrong."
