Officials warn public to avoid coast
Government officials have released urgent advice to residents of the west coast of Canada and Alaska as the region prepares for a possible tsunami.
- If you are in a warning area - move to a higher ground.
- Residents in advisory areas (including the city of Vancouver) are advised to avoid beaches, harbours and marinas.
- Do not go to the coast to observe the tsunami.
- Only return to the coast if local emergency officials advise you to do so.
