A survey of 1000 families claims that 25% of households have had to decide between spending money on heating the home or feeding their children.

Survey aims to help drive down energy bills in the home

The poll into energy use also revealed that eight out of ten families are rationing warmth in their homes.

Of those surveyed, nine out of ten are wearing extra clothes instead of turning on the heating, while 56% turn it off altogether when children are not in the home.

Energy Bill campaigners today called on the Government to drive down energy bills.
