A message sent by Brad Pitt suggesting he is heading to China, a country which he is apparently banned from visiting, has sparked a frenzy among his fans in the Far East.
The Hollywood star issued a maiden message on China's version of Twitter, Weibo, which read: "It is the truth. Yup, I'm coming..."
According to the film site imdb.com, the Chinese government issued the ban on Pitt over his portrayal of the country's harsh rule in the 1997 film Seven Years in Tibet.
But 16 years on, public interest in the actor was underlined by him quickly receiving more than 100,000 followers after his mysterious message, which also generated 30,000 forwards.
