Women's safety drive launched in India

Following an increase in crime against women, southern India's Karnataka state has launched a new safety drive.

Today, booklets aimed at college students who travel in the buses were distributed. Toll-free emergency numbers have also been introduced.

The move is seen as a direct result of the nationwide anger after the recent brutal gang-rape and death of a 23-year-old New Delhi medical student.
