Missing Moira grave search

Police and forensic experts have re-opened a family grave today in search of the body of missing schoolgirl Moira Anderson, who was 11 when she went missing in North Lanarkshire in 1957. Searches will continue tomorrow.

  • Moira's body was never found, Scotland's Lord Advocate, Frank Mulholland, ordered cold case detectives to reopen the case as a murder investigation last year
  • Last month Sheriff Frank Pieri granted a request to open the grave
  • The process is expected to last several days
