Robin Newton: 'It was purely a political decision'

Robin Newton, the Democratic Unionist councillor for East Belfast has accused Jim McVeigh and Sinn Fein, of pushing the flag vote through the council.

It was purely a political decision, a pure political decision.

He called on loyalists involved in the protests to seek a political route to voice their opinions.

All sections of the unionist community should involve themselves in politics in Northern Ireland.
