Political Commentator Eammon Mallie has been speaking to ITV Daybreak about the protests in Belfast.
He said the flag protest has not 'caught fire' the same way the 1985 protests have.
He added that it is a 'bad situation' but people have lived through a lot worse over the years.
This morning the flag will be raised over Belfast City Hall to mark the Duchess of Cambridge's birthday.
