Priests' gay marriage concerns

More than 1,000 priests have signed a letter expressing their concerns that same-sex marriage will "severely" limit religious freedoms. The also liken the move to redefine marriage to the days of Henry VII and the persecution of Roman Catholics.

Govt: Gay marriage plans 'protect' religious freedoms

Responding to comments made by Roman Catholic priests about the proposals on same-sex marriage, a spokesman for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport said:

We have been very clear that our plans for equal marriage will fully protect the freedom of religions bodies to preach, teach and put into practice their beliefs about marriage.
