Crashed tug salvage operation

A salvage operation to save a tug containing 200 tonnes of diesel from sinking off the coast of Devon is "going well". There are fears for the Devon coastline after the tugboat became stranded. Eight people were rescued from the boat.

Royal Navy ships help airlift stranded tugboat crew

The Maritime & Coastguard Agency have confirmed that eight crew members were airlifted to safety last night after a tugboat was hit by the vessel it was towing off the coast of Torbay.

Two RNLI lifeboats which were sent to the scene were assisted by two Royal Naval vessels - the HMS Lancaster and the HMS Severn.
