Acts such as Stereophonics, Gabrielle Aplin and Mick Hucknall are to take part in a re-staging of a mammoth Beatles recording session, exactly 50 years on.

They will perform tracks from a 12-hour session which formed the bulk of the Fab Four's debut album Please Please Me, recorded on February 11, 1963 at Abbey Road's Studio 2.

The guest artists will perform the tracks in the order they were recorded 50 years ago. The whole session will feature live on BBC Radio 2 and will form part of a celebratory programme to be shown on BBC4.
