An ITV News Index Poll carried out by ComRes reveals that there is little public support for British military involvement in the French-led operation to stop terrorist insurgents in Mali.
Of those surveyed:
- Fewer than one in five (18%) believe that David Cameron should commit to deploying British forces on the ground there.
- 47% disagree, while 35% say that they don’t know.
Throughout ten months of Islamist rule, the people of Timbuktu risked their lives to preserve the artefacts of their ancient heritage.
