The head of the Egyptian military has warned the ongoing political conflict could lead to the collapse of the state. Seven people have reportedly been shot dead and hundreds injured in Port Said during the funerals of 33 protesters killed in the city

Football death sentence verdict sparks deadly riots

State media in Egypt said 22 people have been killed after riots in Port Said, in the east of the country.

The riots erupted after a judge sentenced 21 people to death for their role in a riot in Port Said stadium in February last year.
