Family tribute to a 'very special couple' killed in hit and run

The families of Mr and Mrs Simons have released a short statement paying tribute to the couple:

Both of our families are completely devastated by the tragic events that took Ross and Clare from us.

A very special couple have been taken from us and we have no words to describe our loss.

We would all appreciate it if our privacy was respected at this difficult time in order for us to grieve as a family.

'Hit and run' suspect quizzed

Officers have been granted more time to question a 38-year-old man on suspicion of killing a married couple in an alleged hit-and-run in Bristol. The couple, who were on a tandem bike, have been named as Ross Simons, 34, and his wife Clare, 30.
