World's first official Barbie cafe opens in Taiwan

Framed by a festoon of fluorescent pink balloons, employees have declared the world's first official Barbie cafe open for business.

The Taiwanese establishment - which cost more than £1 million - is the first to be authorised by Barbie-makers Mattel.

Customers can enjoy desserts decorated with Barbie icons sitting on corseted chairs served by waitresses in pink tutus.

And for those concerned about maintaining their doll-like figure, all dishes carry calorie labels.
