Turkey's interior minister said the suicide bomber in today's deadly attack at the US embassy in Ankara belonged to an illegal leftist group, Reuters reports.
Turkish state broadcaster TRT said the bomber was 30-year-old and used plastic explosives in the attack.
The bomber is believed to have spent time in prison on terrorism-related charges, and was a member of the Revolutionary People's Liberationi Party-Front (DHKP-C), TRT said.
