Advisers within Michael Gove's Department of Education stand accused of using Twitter to rubbish critical journalists and Labour politicians, according to the Observer.

The newspaper said the content of the tweets issued from the anonymous account @toryeducation "(suggest) it is coming from close to the centre of government".

The report names two advisers, Dominic Cummings and Henry de Zoete, who it alleges "have contributed regularly to the account" while at work. Both men told the paper they were not behind the account.
