Goalkeeper denies match-fixing

Debrecen goalkeeper Vukasin Poleksic has strongly denied trying to influence a Champions League match against Liverpool in 2009. European investigators are probing hundreds of football matches that they believe were fixed.

'Fixed' match in England took place 'in past four years'

European police said a 'fixed' Champions League tie in England took place in the "last three or four years".

Europol head Rob Wainwright said the identity of the match cannot be revealed due to "ongoing judicial proceedings".

"It would be naive and complacent of those in the UK to think such a criminal conspiracy does not involve the English game," said Wainwright.
