A bus carrying fans of a Chilean football team has plunged into a ravine, killing 16 people, the Associated Press is reporting.
Fire department officials said most of those who did in the crash are aged between 13 and 18. One is an infant a few months old. Twenty-one people are reported injured/
Officials said the bus plunged roughly 500ft into a ravine in a mountainous zone about 280 miles south of the capital.
The bus was carrying fans of the O'Higgins team back from a match the squad won against Huachipato de Talcahuan. State television said the bus was intended for only urban use.
