Police investigate deaths of two elderly women in West Midlands

Police are investigating the deaths of two elderly women whose bodies were found in a house in the West Midlands on Monday.

Police and fire crew officers forced entry to the terraced home in Kings Heath just before 7pm to find the mother and daughter, aged 95 and 64 inside the Balaclava Road address.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were alerted to the house after neighbours raised concerns for their wellbeing.

An inquiry is underway to try and establish the circumstances surrounding their deaths, which are being treated as unexplained - and to determine when either of the pair were last seen alive.
