Cregan admits murdering PCs

Dale Cregan has changed his plea and admitted murdering two unarmed police officers in a gun and grenade attack in Greater Manchester. The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to murdering Pc Fiona Bone and Pc Nicola Hughes.

An image of the Glock handgun found at the scene of the killings of PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes in Abbey Gardens in Mottram, Hyde, on September 18 last year has been released by Greater Manchester Police.

Preston Crown Court heard that Dale Cregan, who today confessed to the two murders, fired a total of 32 bullets from the weapon at the unarmed officers after luring them to the address with a bogus 999 call.
