A number of skiers are believed to have been injured following the suspected derailment of a chairlift at the Lecht Ski Centre, near Tomintoul.
Further people are believed to be stranded on chairlfts after the incident, which took place at 3.25pm.
Grampian Police Mountain Rescue Team are en route to the centre to help in the rescue of those stranded. Units from Grampian Fire and Rescue Service and the Scottish Ambulance Service have also been called to the scene.
