81 dead in Pakistan blast

A bomb in a market stand in Quetta, Pakistan has killed at least 81 people and injured 180. The attack was carried out by extremists from Pakistan's Sunni Muslim majority, police said.

Pakistan market bomb was 'fitted to a motorcycle'

Pakistan's officials have said that the extensive damage and loss of life in Quetta was caused by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) strapped to a motorcycle.

Wazir Khan Nasir, deputy inspector general of police in Quetta, said: "The explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device fitted to a motorcycle."
