Ryan Giggs must wait to make his 1,000th senior football appearance after Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson left the Welsh veteran out of his matchday squad to face Norwich.
The 39-year-old instead took his place in the stands at Old Trafford this afternoon for the 3:00pm kick off.
The resting means Giggs is in line to celebrate the milestone in more illustrious circumstances, with his next appearance likely to come against Real Madrid on Tuesday night.
