Security Council holds minute's silence for Chavez

Members of the UN Security Council have held a minute's silence in honour of Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez, according to reporters at the UN.

The request was reportedly made by Russia's envoy to the UN, Vitaly Churkin.

Venezuela election date set

Venezuela will hold a presidential election on April 14 as acting President Nicolas Maduro, the successor to Hugo Chavez, tries to win his own term in office.
