Dancer denies acid attack order

A Bolshoi Ballet dancer has appeared in court accused of plotting an acid attack that nearly blinded the Russian troupe's artistic director. Pavel Dmitrichenko denied telling an alleged accomplice to throw acid in Sergei Filin's face.

Russian ballet dancer formally charged over acid attack

Russian authorities have formally charged Bolshoi Ballet dancer Pavel Dmitrichenko and two suspected accomplices in an acid attack on the Russian ballet's artistic director, Moscow police has said.

Dmitrichenko and the other two men have been charged with a crime that carries a maximum prison sentence of 12 years, police spokesman Maxim Kolotsvetov said.
