New York judge challenges ban on supersize drinks
A judge has invalidated New York City's ban on large sugary drinks, describing it as "arbitrary and capricious".
The decision was a blow to Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who had touted the ban as a way to address what he has termed an obesity "epidemic."
The law on sugary drinks servings over 16 ounces (3.2 pints) was due to come into force tomorrow.
