New York 'cannibal cop' found guilty

Former New York police officer Gilberto Valle, dubbed the "cannibal cop", has been found guilty of all counts, including conspiring to kidnap, cook and eat women.

A federal jury of six men and six women reached the verdict on the fourth day of deliberations in the US District Court in Manhattan.

In addition to the kidnap conspiracy charge, 28-year-old Valle was convicted of a charge of improperly accessing a law enforcement database, which prosecutors claimed he used to help find his intended victims.

Valle faces life imprisonment on the charge of conspiring to kidnap.
