Report: 6p beer price rise 'set to be scrapped'

Next month's 6p rise on a pint of beer is reportedly set to be scrapped. The Sun reports that the Chancellor will also abolish the beer duty escalator in the Budget this afternoon. The escalator increases the levy by 2% on top of inflation each year.

Govt: Economy 'could be worse'

The Chancellor George Osborne has told ITV's Daybreak that the country's economic problems "could be a lot worse", referring to the situation in Cyprus, as he defended his Budget plans to kickstart the recovery.
