Today marks the Vernal Equinox - nature's first day of spring, when day and night become equal in length. Days become a little longer and nights a little shorter.
Despite this, winter is reluctant to let go. Temperatures will actually fall in the next few days for some of us and there'll be a notable wind chill.
Added to this there'll be a risk of snow in some locations on Thursday night into Friday morning.
This time last year was remarkably settled, sunny and warm for the time of year with highs of 24c. Scotland had their warmest March day on record.
