Council won't say if warned of residents' landslip fears

Cornwall Council will not say whether they had prior warning of residents' fears after a house partially collapsed in Looe following a landslip.

I understand they received a "65 page" document about the problems. One resident said he had repeatedly warned the council about the dangers.

Cornwall Council said it is "working with the emergency services and the HSE to carry out a thorough investigation into the cause of the landslip".

Big freeze 'for another month'

The Met Office has warned the freezing weather could last until the end of April, suggesting that temperatures are unlikely to recover to normal averages until the latter part of next month. Hundreds are facing a sixth day without power in Scotland.
