Cyprus' President Nicos Anastasiades has written on Twitter, "We are undertaking great efforts. I hope we have a solution soon".
Mr Anastasiades is due to lead a delegation to Brussels on Sunday to meet heads of the EU, the European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund, known collectively as the Troika.
